Since 1964, China and France have maintained a friendly cooperative relationship, and 2024 marks the 60th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties between the two countries. This morning, the Information Office of the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government held the China-France Friendship Story Session (the 6th session of 2024), focusing on themes such as sister cities, foreign affairs, trade, culture, and sports exchanges between Chinese and French cities. Several guests were invited to engage in dialogue under the theme "Civilizational Exchange, People-to-People Connectivity." Mr. Lin Hai, Deputy General Manager of GZCCI Commercial and Mr. Roman, Chief Financial Officer of GL events Greater China, were invited to share the story of the China-France joint venture project—the Guangzhou Yuexiu International Congress Center—focusing on Sino-French economic and trade exchanges.

Guangzhou Yuexiu International Congress Center serves as a vital link in Sino-French economic and trade exchanges and plays a significant platform role in the field of conferences and exhibitions, contributing to Guangzhou's development into an international conference and exhibition hub.

At the event, Mr. Lin Hai, Deputy General Manager of GZCCI Commercial, recounted the background of the congress center as an important strategic deployment of the group to implement the concept of “old city, new vitality.” He also shared how the GZCCI Commercial has provided strong support and guidance throughout the growth of GYICC. The congress center has matured and received recognition and affirmation from both government departments and brand enterprises today. He revealed that the GZCCI Commercial and GL Events will embark on more project collaborations, integrating the respective strengths to make greater contributions to Sino-French economic and trade development.

Mr.Romand, Chief Financial Officer of GL Events Greater China, introduced that since entering the Chinese market in 2006, GL Events has successfully established a presence in three major business areas in China: GL Events Venues, GL Events Live and GL Events Exhibitions. Among these, Guangzhou Yuexiu International Congress Center is the first venue management project in China where GL Events has been involved in operations and management. He mentioned that during the architectural design phase of the congress center, GL Events had already intervened and provided comprehensive design requirements, achieving a perfect combination of functionality and practicality at the Yuexiu International Congress Center. In this cooperation, both GZCCI Commercial and GL Events have truly achieved mutual understanding, mutual tolerance, complementary strengths, and joint development.

The 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France is coming, we are proud to share the Guangzhou Yuexiu International Congress Center as a successful case of Sino-French corporate cooperation. In the future，with the resources and support from both groups, GYICC will seize the opportunity to actively introduce more high-end international conferences, strive to become an international conference destination, and further contribute to Guangzhou's accelerated construction as a first-class international consumer center city.
